January...the time of year we like to hunker down, get cozy, and prepare those winter comfort foods

Some of our best memories are ones when we've invited our favourite little people to cook with us. If we've learned anything from these experiences, we've learned that if you're going to cook with kids...

Aprons are a MUST!

We love these playful, energizing aprons from Creative Simone! Each apron is;
  • a unique creation
  • comes in sizes XS-XL
  • fully lined on the back
  • adjustable neck straps
  • wide lower apron design protects the sides of clothing instead of just the front like more traditional aprons.

What a great birthday present idea...eh?

Snow is predicted to fall on the Salish Sea this weekend...
(Oh yes, we said the "S" word)
What a perfect time to curl up in your favourite chair with a warm cup of something and a good book about our beloved British Columbia.

Author Hume contemplates the meaning of rain; the tawny islets in the Salish Sea; what the night sky tells us about our place in time; people who choose to live at the margins and the relentless passage of lives and seasons, loss and renewal.

“What Hume has forgotten about BC is more than most journalists will ever know.” A Walk with the Rainy Sisters invites readers once again to share the author’s love and awe of this province.

Did you know we have a fabulous selection of books?

Just in this week, EVERY DAY EDEN,

and we love it!

"Using inexpensive, often recycled materials and easy techniques, this lively collection of garden projects and practices will delight beginner and experienced green thumbs alike.

Whether you have just five minutes or an entire weekend, this colourful book offers step-by-step instructions and gorgeous photography for lovely gifts from the garden, delightful recipes and cocktails as well as fun projects for kids."

Most folks who come into the Market stop mid-stride, and stand for long moments gazing into the zen-like face of "Mr. Golden Sun".
Yesterday one of our guests in the Market said, "Beside the word JOY in the dictionary, should be this face."
This week the artist, talented carver/wood-turner Courtney Powell made a surprise announcement, and asked us to
DROP THE PRICE by $1500!
That brings this impressively sized 3 ft x 3 ft carving to $4000.
We're still in shock...
If you're one of the many who have been in love with this fellow for a while, hurry...this is unprecedented!
